Table Top Tissue Dissection
Sioux acts as the R&D department of Xyall. By using its multi-disciplinary expertise, Sioux develops and produces the entire range of high throughput dissection systems and easy-to-use tabletop systems.
Xyall digitizes and automates the tissue dissection workflow to help pathologists obtain more reliable molecular diagnostic test results.
The customer's challenge
Tissue dissection is a labor-intensive and error-prone process. Pathologists mark a region of interest on slides. Skilled laboratory technicians manually scrap the tissue to put it in small tubes for further processing. Xyall accelerates the workflow providing a tabletop tissue dissection system for hospitals so that the tissue does not have to be sent to oncology laboratory.
Sioux's contribution
Sioux has developed the entire tabletop system using mechatronics, mechanics, electronics, embedded software, application software and applied mathematics engineers. Sioux delivered an agile and affordable system using state-of-the-art technology in image registration, robotics and workflow optimization software. After development, Sioux produced the systems in volume in its assembly plant.
Result
The Tissector TT is the world’s most accurate and easy-to-use tissue dissection system with an accuracy of < 0,1 mm. Using this system, hospitals can quickly process urgent cases and therefore shorten the diagnosis time for cancers and guide personalized cancer therapy.
