Sioux's mechanics team has expertise in accurate and fast positioning in 6 degrees of freedom in the sub-micrometer range of products and objects, from <mm3 and milligrams to >m3 and kilograms.

Tooling for measurement, testing and production

Developing, building and optimizing high-tech equipment involves continuous testing and measuring. Sioux develops and realizes advanced tools for design validation and production optimization.

Conditioning

Extreme accuracy requires environmental conditioning. Sioux has the relevant competencies in-house, including high-vacuum, ultra-clean, protective gases against oxidation, mK temperature stabilization and vibration control.

Sioux is an expert in the development and construction of single pieces, mastering the full range of knowledge to achieve efficient series products: industrialization, Design for Manufacturing, Assembly and Cost.

Enclosures and product design

The importance of design and user-friendliness is great, for example for medical products. Sioux develops enclosures and user interfaces, and has the knowledge of associated techniques such as injection molding, 3D (metal) printing and aluminum casting.

HoloZcan

The challenge In this European subsidized project, HoloZcan wants to increase (environmental and exhaled) bio-aerosol sensing/measurement capability of CBRN practitioners (stakeholders) by developing a high resolution, large throughput, automatic and highly portable detection system for making automatic classification of pathogens and particles. Sioux's contribution Sioux Technologies will develop a microscope that works on the basis of computational optics. This will allow bacteria and viruses to be recognized through the mathematical reconstruction of holographic interference patterns. Instead of expensive optics, we use advanced software in this application. Desired result The end result is going to be a holographic microscopy and imaging technology for rapid and cost-efficient screening of potential biological threats and unknown, potentially dangerous substances, combined with methods of artificial intelligence and machine learning. A framework will be established of a dynamic feature selection and validation algorithm to support the continuous innovation capability of the system in the field of adaptive learning and database optimization for specific bioinformatic applications. The project will also develop comprehensive and innovative means of respiratory, ventilation and environmental biological data sampling that can be used in real-time, standoff or in mobile bio-detection context. Smart Locker System

The customer’s challenge Vecos wants to improve its locker systems by making them more intelligent, by enabling them to communicate with the users and thereby reducing the total amount of lockers needed, and so supporting the modern hybrid workplace. Users can access their lockers via badges or can use a mobile app to easily find and access available lockers, allocate a locker from home, or open their locker remotely. Meaning more flexibility for the user and less hassle for the facility manager. Sioux’s contribution Sioux developed the ‘Releezme’ software platform, which consists of a cloud-based back-end and website that manages the customer’s lockers for all locations around the world. Next to that, Sioux develops the entire terminal software stack and develops and manufactures the locker terminal hardware. Powered by data, the SaaS-based Vecos Smart Locker system is fully customizable to tailor to each client’s needs and provides powerful management insight. It speaks the same language as other leading Workplace IT and IoT platforms, and with 90+ unique live API integrations, can be fully integrated into any smart office IT ecosystem. Result The first version of Releezme was installed in June 2016 in a high-tech building in Sweden. The system now connects more than 1 million lockers worldwide to the cloud and makes them accessible to more than 2 million daily users.
